Last June 13, our CEO, Naimish Gohil, joined an SSM meeting hosted by District 3 at BrainPOP’s headquarters in Manhattan. While we were there as a breakfast sponsor, the real value of the visit was the chance to step into the room, face-to-face with educators, and hear what’s really happening in their schools.
District 3 brings together principals, social workers, and guidance counselors every month to discuss the issues they’re tackling on the ground. This time, Satchel Pulse was invited to briefly share the work we’ve been doing to support schools in areas like student wellbeing, SEL, and mental health.
“Being able to meet people in person, hear their questions, and listen to what they’re facing is hard to achieve through screens alone,” Naimish shared. “Digital tools are important, but so is showing up.”
What We Heard
Implementation challenges. While educators see the value in SEL, many shared concerns about time and capacity. For some, it feels like an add-on rather than something that fits into their existing routines. Satchel Pulse understands that—and we’re building tools that meet schools where they are.
A Continued Commitment
This visit offered more than just a speaking slot. It served as a real-world check-in—a moment to connect with the people doing the work and understand what support looks like from their perspective. As our work in NYC continues, that perspective will keep shaping how we show up and how we build.
